Senior Food Safety Director

Summary

Katie is a Senior Food Safety Director and Managing & Business Development Director at Beacon Compliance. She founded Beacon Compliance in 2018 after recognising a significant gap in the market for practical, client-focused compliance support. With many smaller food businesses lacking the technical knowledge and expertise needed to grow and progress to the next level, Katie saw an opportunity to use her 24 years of experience across the food industry to help businesses confidently navigate the complex landscape of food legislation and regulatory requirements.

Experience

Throughout more than 24 years in the food industry, Katie has built extensive experience across both the public and private sectors. She began her career as a Chartered Environmental Health Officer within local authorities before moving into senior technical and quality roles within the food manufacturing industry.
Her experience includes positions such as Technical and QA Manager for leading brands including Ginsters, where she was responsible for ensuring the compliant production of products supplied to major retailers including M&S, Tesco, ASDA and Morrisons. She has also worked as a third-party auditor within the public sector supply chain and on behalf of brands such as Subway.
Katie has extensive knowledge of the SALSA and BRCGS certification standards, alongside a broad range of food safety and regulatory requirements. Today, she uses this experience to support businesses in bridging the gap between commercial operations and the regulatory bodies that govern them.
